Introduction
The ability to understand and manage risk is a significant advantage for businesses across the world.
But for the most part, existing risk management platforms are prohibitively expensive; demand internal resource put against them, and often come with a catch.
What's worse, results given are often laced with self-serving bias, with the backing enterprises taking a cut from any resulting transactions made.
Enter Maven. Global experts on research, advisory and execution services of financial risk, this wholly independent team came to us to pioneer a user friendly risk calculator aimed at mid–cap companies.
Maven are on a mission to democratise access to risk management and to be the change the financial industry itself was resisting and we were brought on board to design the brand & platform.
Brief
With honesty and transparency held at the core, Maven created Synthesis as the central source for up to the minute information on risk management and its benefits.
Whilst not everyone requires risk management software, many businesses, charities and government institutions do — and many of these operate with small finance or treasury teams.
Instead of being a "nice to have", Synthesis transforms risk management into an essential foundation for successfully growing and monitoring any business with impartial advice.
Our aim was to create an accessible platform that endows growing companies with secure financial decisions through trustworthy and colourful data insights sitting upon a minimal interface that is as delightful to use as it is helpful.
Creative Approach
With relatively low literacy to start off with in the financial risk assessment industry, we started by doing our homework to uncover what users would value most.
Keeping their needs at the forefront, we nevertheless felt that services developed for corporate use needn’t look and feel so dry and bland.
We sought to maintain a level of sophistication that would satisfy experienced entrepreneurs accustomed to traditional interfaces, but balanced this with a fresh approach guided by the digital platform and its focus on usability and access.
Working closely with the team we gained an intimate understanding of what market transparency really means, and how to support this with real-–time risk analysis, education on market trends and help with scenario planning.
Keeping these in focus, we sought to position Synthesis as the leading provider of accurate and impartial market advice that would boost the financial confidence of business owners the world over.
Outcome
Before Synthesis, comparable platforms offered financial risk calculation to those with the time and budgets, for a poor return of unreliable and often biased advice.
Free of a competitor focus, we chose instead to hone our core values, listen to our users and produce the best outcome for them.
Synthesis is now leading the way towards a more transparent, stable and informed business world that is safer for SMEs to navigate and thrive in.
